Joko Widodo, or which is famously known as the Jokowi
decided by the General Election Commission (KPU) as the elected president of
Indonesia, Susilo Yudhoyono to replace President (SBY).
In the campaign and the
presidential debate, Jokowi repeatedly stated and confirms that the creative
economy is one important gateway to support artists such as photographers,
graphic artists, graphic designers, song writers, film makers, stage and film
director, event manager, comic makers, painter, dancer, singer, stage and movie
actor, game designers, software makers, and animators, to be part of the creative
industries.

Although the era of President SBY has made the creative
economy as one of the focus on the Tourism Ministry led by Mari Elka Pangestu,
but Jokowi want creative industries become more strengthened so that it can
contribute more significantly to the income growth of the Indonesian economy.
